Scarlet/ Scarlet By Marissa Meyer.

 

Otra vez vengo a reseñar una novela de Marissa Meyer. Hoy es el turno de Scarlet, la continuación de Cinder. Para los que no sepan de que trata la novela anterior, ya tengo una reseña realizada en el blog.

El final de Cinder me pareció muy inconcluso, es ese tipo de finales que te dejan con las ganas de saber mas de los personajes. Cuando me enteré de que la continuación de la novela iba a ser basada en Caperucita Roja (Scarlet) tenía cierto temor de que la autora no supiese (o no logrará) hilar ambas historias. Pero lo ha hecho, y con una calificación notable.

Entrando en la historia, Scarlet es una joven (de la misma edad de Cinder mas o menos) que vive en un pueblo de París, Francia. Ella es granjera, junto con su abuela Michelle Benoit. Ellas han llevado una vida tranquila hasta que su abuela desaparece misteriosamente y luego aparece su padre torturado por unos hombres misteriosos que buscan algo de su abuela, un secreto que Scarlet no sabe aún.

La pobre joven insiste en que su abuela no oculta nada y en que han cometido un error. En la vida de Scarlet aparece Lobo, un hombre misterioso que ha llegado hace poco a Rieux (el pueblo donde vive Scarlet) y que aparentemente solo se dedica a las peleas callejeras. Lobo se ofrece a ayudar a Scarlet a buscar a su abuela, pero ¿Será 100% confiable Lobo? ¿Cuales son sus verdaderas intenciones? Eso es lo que nuestra joven protagonista de cabello escarlata tiene que descubrir.

Por otro lado Cinder ha escapado de la carcel de Nueva Pekin, junto con el Capitan Throne, un hombre que consigue en una celda pensando que esta estaba vacia.
Cinder está aprendiendo a manejar su don Lunar y es así como logra escapar, valiéndose de lo que puede hacer. Con un giro de los acontecimientos la vida de Cinder y Scarlet se cruzan, la desparicion de la abuela de Scarlet tiene todo que ver con Cinder y el pasado de Cinder está decididamente ligado a el pasado de Michelle Benoit.

Con Levana declarandole la guerra a la Tierra, Kai en peligro de morir y Cinder prófuga de la justicia cargando con Lobo y Scarlet, las cosas se pueden poner muy interesantes en la próxima entrega de la serie.

Mi Opinión:

La autora lo ha vuelto a hacer. Dejarme con ganas de más. Si el final de Cinder me había parecido terrible por haberlo dejado tan sin concluir, el de Scarlet es casi peor porque ahora son dos historias unidas, dos protagonistas que no tengo ni la menor idea que que harán. ¿Cual será el siguiente paso? ¿Que hará Cinder? ¿Que hará Scarlet? ¿Se puede confiar en Lobo o simplemente es un enemigo más? Todo eso queda en el aire, con una expectativa tremenda espero el siguiente libro.

Hablando mas de está historia, tengo que decir que la autora se ha superado, está novela me ha gustado mas que la anterior. El carácter de Scarlet es encantador, a pesar de que no es la más simpática del mundo, es guerrera, no se da por vencida, y es justa. Siempre quiere oir toda la historia antes de juzgar a los demás, quizás por eso Lobo logra conectar con ella, no se siente juzgado.

La pareja de Lobo y Scarlet me parece encantadora. Han habido momentos en que me han emocionado de verdad, me parecen tan adorables juntos. Sobre todo ese sentido protector que desarrolla Lobo hacia Scarlet y ese sentimiento de comprensión y ternura que Scarlet desarrolla hacia Lobo.

El libro se va intercalando entre Cinder y Scarlet, pasando por algún capitulo en el que se habla desde la perspectiva de Kai, el Emperador de la Comunidad Oriental. Me llamo la atención en especial un capitulo donde se habla desde la visión de Levana.

La autora me sorprendió gratamente con esta nueva entrega de su serie Crónicas Lunares, no tengo queja en absoluto de la novela porque me ha encantado. Si la siguiente será así de buena, pues que sigan llegando Crónicas Lunares!

Again I come to review a novel by Marissa Meyer. Today is the turn of Scarlet, Cinder continued. For those who do not know that about the previous novel, and I have a review on the blog.

The end of Cinder seemed very unfinished, is that kind of end that leave you wanting to know more of the characters. When I found out that the continuation of the novel was to be based on Little Red (Scarlet) had some concern that the author did not know (or not achieve) spinning both stories. But it has, and with a remarkable score.

Entering the story, Scarlet is a young (same age Cinder or so) who lives in a village in Paris, France. She is a farmer, along with his grandmother Michelle Benoit. They have led a quiet life until her grandmother mysteriously disappears and then appears her father tortured by mysterious men who want something from her grandmother, a secret that Scarlet does not know yet.

The poor young man insists that his grandmother does not hide anything and they have made a mistake. In Scarlet’s life appears Lobo, a mysterious man who has recently arrived in Rieux (the town where he lives Scarlet) and apparently only dedicated to street fights. Wolf Scarlet offers help to find his grandmother, but Lobo will be 100% reliable? What are his real intentions? That’s what our young protagonist must discover scarlet hair.

On the other hand Cinder has escaped from jail in New Pekin, along with Captain Throne, a man who gets in a cell thinking this was empty.
Cinder is learning to manage your gift Lunar and this is how he manages to escape, using what you can do. With a turn of events Cinder’s lives intersect and Scarlet, the disappearance of the Scarlet grandmother has everything to do with Cinder and Cinder’s past is strongly linked to the past of Michelle Benoit.

With Levana declaring war on Earth, in danger of dying Kai and Cinder fugitive from justice charged with Wolf and Scarlet, things can get really interesting in the next installment of the series.

My Opinion:

The author has done it again. Let me wanting more. If the end of Cinder had seemed so awful for leaving him unfinished, the Scarlet is almost worse because now two stories together, two protagonists that I have no idea what they will do. What will be the next step? What will Cinder? What Will Scarlet? Can you trust a wolf or just enemy? All that is in the air, with an expectation tremendous hope the next book.

Speaking is more than history, I have to say that the author has passed, is novel I liked more than the last. Scarlet’s character is charming, although not the most sympathetic of the world, is a warrior, not give up, and just. I always want to hear the whole story before you judge others, so perhaps Lobo manages to connect with her, not feel judged.

The Wolf and Scarlet couple seems lovely. There have been times when I have been really excited, I seem so adorable together. Especially that protective sense to Scarlet and Wolf develops that sense of understanding and tenderness that develops toward Wolf Scarlet.

The book is intertwined between Cinder and Scarlet, to a chapter in which it is spoken from the perspective of Kai, the Emperor of the Eastern Community. I call special attention to a chapter which speaks from the perspective of Levana.

She was pleasantly surprised with this new release of its Lunar Chronicles series, I have no complaints at all in the novel because I loved it. If the next will be that good, because they keep coming Lunar Chronicles!

Indiscretion/ Indiscreción By Charles Dubow.

Hola de nuevo! La reseña de hoy es sobre una novela que me ha gustado mucho. No esperaba que me gustase tanto pero ha sido así, una grata sorpresa. Es la primera novela del autor y ha sido un buen comienzo.

La historia central de la novela es el matrimonio de Harry y Mady. Ellos son un matrimonio feliz, con un niño llamado Jhonny. En sus vidas entra Claire, una joven preciosa, encantadora que ellos adoptan de una forma u otra y la incluyen en su circulo familiar. Con lo que no contaban Mady y Harry es con el giro que dan sus vidas desde que Claire entra a formar parte de ella.

Claire cada vez está mas incluida en la vida de Harry y Mady, hasta que por casualidades del destino, estando Mady y Jhonny en Roma, Claire se encuentra y con Harry y ocurre lo inevitable: tienen relaciones sexuales y se dan cuenta que se gustan, incluso mas de lo que pensaban que se podían gustar.

A partir de ese momento Harry comienza a ausentarse, a dejar a Mady sola, viaja con Claire por Europa y viven como enamorados hasta que todo explota. Mady se da cuenta de su infidelidad y decide dejarlo solo en Roma.

Desde ese momento la novela toma ciertos giros que, quizás, no se esperaban en una novela de este estilo.

Mi opinión:

Quise hablar lo menos posible sobre la historia, para que quien decida leerla se sorprenda. La novela es contada desde la perspectiva de Walter, el mejor amigo de Mady y Harry. Él, como dice al principio de la novela, no es el protagonista de la historia pero sabe todo lo que paso y lo que no sabe, se lo imagina. Y es así.

A medida que van avanzando en la historia, Walter hace reflexiones sobre Harry y Mady, también sobre Claire y todo lo que les ocurre. Es como contar una historia e ir analizándola al mismo tiempo. Él no solo se limitaba a contar, también decía lo que sentía y lo que le parecía sobre lo que estaba pasando.

Walter es un personaje “secundario”, pero a medida que avanza la historia, mas hacia el final, el toma gran protagonismo y sirve de núcleo entre todos los personajes. Es un personaje que lo cuenta todo, sabe narrar lo que sucede y hace reflexiones muy bonitas sobre las situaciones y trata en lo posible de no juzgar a ninguna de las partes hasta no estar seguro. Lo más probable es que sea porque es Abogado.

Llegada la historia a cierto punto, toma un giro radical que hace que todo lo que uno como lector se planteo que sucedería, se esfuma. Y todo se vuelve radical, todo se descubre, se caen las mascaras y sinceramente te hace sentir una pena tremenda por todos.

El autor ha escrito los capitulos según las estaciones del año: verano, otoño, invierno y primavera. Al principio no entendía porque, luego me percate de que eran las épocas del año en que vivía los personas pero al fin entendí, al finalizar la novela que no es solamente la época del año en que transcurren sus vidas, sino que es una metáfora de los sentimientos y vivencias de los personajes.

Es una novela que te hace vivir de cerca una infidelidad, las consecuencias de la infidelidad, lo que sienten y piensan cada una de las partes involucradas. ¿Como reaccionarías si después de 20 años de matrimonio, de felicidad y amor, descubres que tu pareja, el ser en quien mas confiabas, te engaña? Esa es la pregunta que se plantea en la novela.

Creo que el nombre esta bastante bien definido, esto puede sonar a spoiler pero lo haré: Maddy descubre la infidelidad de Harry por una indiscreción, el muy bruto dejo pruebas acusatorias donde ella las pudo encontrar. Una indiscreción totalmente.

Esta vez no he tenido personajes favoritos, porque todos me han gustado y con todos sentí afinidad de cierta forma u otra. Con Maddy me sentí identificada por ser una madre abnegada, una esposa perfecta y de repente toda su vida se desmorona. Con Claire también pude identificarme, una joven hermosa, desbordando juventud y vida, por supuesto que tenía que fijarse en alguien como Harry que podía hacerla sentir importante, grande, triunfadora, alguien de quien pudiese aprender. Mas que un amor, era una figura paterna lo que ella había visto en Harry, alguien que le daba amor y la hacia sentir protegida.

¿Que puedo decir de Harry? Un hombre noble, que se equivoco, pero que estaba enamorado de su esposa pero al mismo tiempo quería a Claire, su intención nunca fue hacerle daño, la quería, pero tenía una familia. Un hombre que se enfrento a un dilema ¿como amar a dos mujeres tan maravillosas? Si perdía a Maddy, perdía una familia, si perdía a Claire, perdía una ilusión, la emoción del comienzo de sentir cosas diferentes. Estaba viviendo en dos mundo, pensando que sería inmune a la verdad. Cuán equivocado estaba el pobre.

Y Walter. Si tuviese que elegir a alguno de ellos, elegiría sin duda a Walter. Y es que tanta nobleza no es posible en una sola persona. Esto puede llegar a considerarse un spoiler pero lo diré: Walter jamás se caso porque estaba enamorado de Maddy desde que la conoció, por eso jamás se intereso en nadie. ¿Como vives tan cerca de una persona que amas, sabiendo que ama a otro, pero aún así sigues ahí para esa persona? Sin celos, sin rencor por haber escogido a otro, simplemente allí, viendo como esa persona es feliz con otro que no eres tu. Eso es nobleza pura. Él estuvo con ella en las buenas y en las malas, amandola, ese amor verdadero que solo se extingue con la muerte y que te permite ver a esa persona ser plenamente feliz, siendo feliz tu mismo por verla ser feliz.

La novela comienza en Verano, cuando todo es resplandeciente. Luego en otoño las cosas cambian, el ambiente ya no es tan feliz y eso nos lo hacen vivir los personajes con sus acciones. En invierno, la época más fría es cuando todo se destapa, la dura y fría verdad. Por fin, en primavera todo florece, aunque no como se supone que pasaría en una novela optimista. Este no es el caso.

Cuando adquirí la novela, vi que estaba enmarcada en el genero romántico. Si bien es cierto que la novela tiene toques románticos, no es para nada romántica. Al menos no es el romanticismo rosa de algunas novelas, es muy dramática. El genero que le corresponde, sin duda, es el de drama.

No puedo mas que recomendarla, que la lean y expresen sus opiniones. Cada quien tiene sus gustos, eso es seguro, pero está novela se merece una oportunidad inclusive si el genero no es de tu preferencia. Voy a dejar algunas citas que he subrayado de la novela:

“No, yo a quien culpo es a Harry. A él, al héroe del colegio, al antiguo marine, es a quien le faltaron el valor y la entrega. Tentar es fácil, pero sólo los que son fuertes de verdad se pueden resistir a la tentación. Harry debería haber sido capaz, pero él, ese dechado de virtudes, fue débil”

“Pero el fuego no tiene escrúpulos. Lo quema todo, da igual lo que se cruce en su camino”

“Al igual que el explorador que descubre un paraíso en la Tierra, a él ya no le gusta el mundo que hay al otro lado, y sólo puede pensar en cruzar el puente nevado que lo devolverá a Shangri-La”.

IN ENGLISH:

Hello again! Today’s review is on a novel that I liked it. I did not expect much but I liked was so pleasantly surprised. It is the author’s first novel and has been a good start.

The central story of the novel is the marriage of Harry and Mady. They are happily married, with a son named Johnny. Claire enters into their lives, a young beautiful, charming they adopt one form or another and include it in their family circle. With what Mady and Harry did not have the turn is to give their lives since Claire joins her.

Claire is increasingly included in the life of Harry and Mady, until twist of fate, while Mady and Jhonny in Rome, is Claire and Harry and the inevitable happens: have sex and realize that love, even more than they thought they could like.

My opinion:

I wanted to say as little as possible about the history, to decide who was surprised to read it. The novel is told from the perspective of Walter, the best friend of Harry and Mady. He, as stated at the beginning of the novel, not the protagonist of the story but knows everything that happened and do not know, I think. And so.

As we go forward in history, Walter reflects on Harry and Mady, also on Claire and everything that happens. It’s like telling a story and go while analyzing it. He not only merely have also said what he felt and what he thought about what was happening.

Walter is a character “secondary”, but as the story progresses, but towards the end, is the main player and the core serves all the characters. It is a character who tells all he knows narrate what happens and makes very nice reflections on situations where possible and try not to judge either side until he was sure. The novel begins in the summer when everything is bright. Then in autumn things change, the environment is not so happy and that we do the characters live with their actions. In winter, the coldest time is when everything is uncovered, the cold hard truth. Finally, everything blooms in spring, but not how it’s supposed to happen in a novel optimistic. This is not the case.

When I bought the book, I saw that he was framed in the romance genre. While the novel has romantic touches, is not at all romantic. At least it’s not pink romance novels, is very dramatic. The genre it belongs, without doubt, is the drama.

I can only recommend it, to read it and express their views. Everyone has their tastes, that’s for sure, but is novel deserves a chance even if the genre is not your favorite. I’ll let some quotes that I stressed in the novel:

“No, I who is to blame Harry. To him, the hero of the school, the former Marine, is who lacked the courage and commitment. Entice is easy, but only those who are truly strong can resist temptation. Harry should have been able, but he, that paragon of virtue, was weak “

“But the fire is unscrupulous. Burns it all, no matter what comes your way”

“Like the explorer who discovered a paradise on Earth, he does not like the world is on the other side, and can only think about crossing the bridge to return it snowed that Shangri-La”

The Perks of Being a Wallflower/Las ventajas de ser un marginado – Stephen Chbosky

Hola de nuevo! Las ventajas de ser un marginado es un libro que tenía en mi lista de pendientes por leer, al salir la película (con la adorada Emma Watson) aumento mi nivel de interés en el libro. A pesar de que tenía muchas ganas de leerlo antes, cuando tuve en mi poder “Cinder” no pude dejar de leerlo y deje de lado Ventajas de ser un marginado. Había escuchado muchas cosas positivas de este libro y no me ha defraudado en ningún sentido, porque además de ser un libro un poco dramático a veces, es muy entretenido y no aburre en absoluto.

La novela trata sobre Charlie. Acompañamos a este adolescente de 15 – 16 años durante todo un año. A partir del suicidio de su amigo Michael, él siente que ya no tiene sitio en el instituto. Ya no tiene con quien hablar ni con quien compartir, y la soledad, la necesidad de expresarse lo lleva a escribir cartas. En las cartas cuenta con detalles todo lo que vive, se las envía a una persona de la cuál no sabemos el nombre y que él tampoco le revela su identidad, trata de mantenerse en el anonimato lo más posible.

Su vida cambia cuando conoce a Sam y Patrick, dos hermanastros que están en su último año de instituto y que acogen a Charlie como su amigo, sin importarles la edad. De allí Charlie va ampliando su circulo de amigos: Bill, Mary Elizabeth, Alice, entre otros que ahora forman parte de su vida.

Charlie comienza a sentir algo mas que amistad por Sam, él se lo confiesa y ella lo toma de la mejor forma posible, haciendole saber que ella es muy grande para él y que deje de pensar en ella de esa manera. En cualquier caso, siguen siendo amigos.

A parte de Sam y Patrick, Charlie tiene otro amigo, aunque no es amigo propiamente dicho, su profesor Bill. Su profesor de Literatura se encarga de darle libros a Charlie y pedirle que haga redacciones sobre esas lecturas. A medida que avanza el curso, Bill le asigna libros de diferentes generos a Charlie y cada vez se hacen mas profundos y analiticos.

Charlie es un joven muy maduro para su edad y que se enfrenta a los problemas de una forma simple, a veces incluso parece que no fuesen problemas para él sino mas bien situaciones negativas que hay que resolver. A veces tiende a estar muy deprimido y esto lo lleva a sentirse verdaderamente mal.

El final del libro no es para nada lo que me esperaba, porque te deja pensando y reflexionando en como llevamos nuestra vida y en como afrontamos nuestros problemas.

Mi opinión.

Las ventajas de ser un marginado se ha convertido en una de mis novelas favoritas, otra novela que me he devorado en 2 días y medio. Porque no tiene desperdicio. A pesar de que el protagonista es un adolescente la novela no es para nada infantil ni, de hecho, es muy sensible, profunda y dramática. Algunas veces me ha hecho sonreír, sobre todo Patrick porque es un personaje muy alegre.

La sensibilidad de Charlie para ver cosas que a otros se les pasan desapercibidas o que simplemente no quieren afrontar, es lo mas mágico de todo. Teniendo en cuenta que es un adolescente, este hecho sorprende mucho. Tiene a afectarse por lo que les suceden a los demás y muchas veces he sentido ganas de llorar por verlo pasar por situaciones que son bastante lamentables.

No puedo evitar recordar a Silver Linings Playbook mientras leía Las Ventajas De Ser Un Marginado, porque Charlie algunas veces se esforzaba tanto por ser feliz, de la misma forma en que Pat lo hacia. Ambas novelas no tienen nada que ver entre si, tienen argumentos diferentes y personajes diferentes. Pero siento que guardan una relación, en lo profundas que son ambas y en lo mucho que te dejan pensando en tu vida y en lo que haces.

Es una novela altamente recomendada, si bien es muy dramática y aleccionadora, es tremendamente fácil de leer. No creo que tenga rango de edad si sabes interpretar lo que te dice el personaje.

Hello again! The Perks of Being a Wallflower an outcast is a book I had on my to-do list for reading, leaving the film (with the beloved Emma Watson) increase my level of interest in the book. Although I really wanted to read it before, when I had in my possession “Cinder” I could not put it down and forget .The Perks of Being a Wallflower I had heard many positive things about this book and I was not disappointed in any way, because besides being a book a little dramatic at times, is very entertaining and not boring at all.

The novel is about Charlie. Accompany this teen 15-16 years throughout one year. From the suicide of his friend Michael, he feels that he has no place in high school. You no longer have to talk and to share, and loneliness, the need to express what has to write letters. In the letters has details everything that lives, they are sent to a person from whom we do not know the name and that he will not reveal his identity, try to remain anonymous as possible.

His life changes when he meets Sam and Patrick, two half-brothers who are in their last year of high school and hosting Charlie as his friend, regardless of age. From there Charlie is widening their circle of friends: Bill, Mary Elizabeth, Alice, and others that are now part of his life.

Charlie begins to feel something more than friendship for Sam, he confesses and she takes it in the best way possible, letting you know that she is very big for him and stop thinking about it that way. In any case, remain friends.

A part of Sam and Patrick, Charlie has another friend, though not actual friend, his teacher Bill. Your literature professor is responsible for giving books to Charlie and ask him to do essays on those readings. As the course progresses, Bill books of different genres assigned to Charlie and increasingly become more profound and analytical.

Charlie is a young very mature for his age and he faces problems in a simple, sometimes not seem to trouble him but were rather negative situations to be solved. Sometimes tends to be very depressed and this leads him to feel really bad.

The end of the book is not at all what I expected, because it leaves you thinking and reflecting on how we live our lives and how we face our problems.

My opinion.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower has become one of my favorite novels, another novel that I have eaten in two days and a half. Because not wasted. Although the protagonist is a teen novel is by no child nor, indeed, is very sensitive, deep and dramatic. Sometimes it made me smile, especially Patrick because he is a very sociable character.

Charlie sensitivity to see things that others are unnoticed or simply do not want to face, is the most magical of all. Given that he’s a teenager, this fact very surprised. It has to be affected by what happen to the other and many times I felt like mourn for him to go through situations that are quite unfortunate.

I can not help but remember Silver Linings Playbook while reading The Perks Of Being A Marginalized because Charlie sometimes trying so hard to be happy, in the same way that Pat did. Both novels have nothing to do with each other, have different arguments and different characters. But I feel I have a relationship, as they are both deep and how much leave you thinking about your life and what you do.

It is a highly recommended novel, while very dramatic and sobering, is extremely easy to read. Do not think I have age range if you know what you interpret the character says.

La reseña de hoy es de una novela de la que había escuchado buenas criticas y decidí leerla. De antemano, antes de dar mi opinión, tengo que reconocer que no le tenía grandes expectativas a esta novela, pero resulto ser mejor de esta manera porque cuando tienes grandes expectativas sobre algo (una novela, película, lo que sea) y termina siendo decepcionante el golpe es mas fuerte, sin embargo con esta novela es todo lo contrario. Cinder, sin haberla comenzado a leer con grandes expectativas, me ha encantado. Me gusto tanto, que termine de leerla en 3 días.

Cinder es una joven adolescente que vive en Nuevo Pekin. Ella es la mecanica de la ciudad, vive con su madrastra Adri y sus dos hermanastras Pearl y Peony. Cinder, aparentemente es una joven normal, sin embargo no es así. Es una ciborg. Los ciborg son humanos que tienen miembros bionicos, una de sus manos y su pierna es de metal, de hecho su cerebro es como una computadora.

En un día de trabajo normal en el mercado de Nuevo Pekin, el principe Kai aparece en el mercado requiriendo los servicios de Cinder para reparar una androide real. Cinder acepta, por supuesto, y se da cuenta de que ella no es inmune a los encantos del principe, definitivamente le gusta.

En Nuevo Pekin se realiza un baile anual, con motivo de las festividades de la Comunidad. A este baile asisten todas las buenas familias de Nuevo Pekin y las jovenes tienen la oportunidad de bailar con el principe. Las hermanastras de Cinder se preparan para ir al baile, sabiendo que ella no asistirá porque su madrastra jamás lo permitirá porque se avergüenza de ella.

A pesar de que su madrastra la odia, su única amiga es Peony, su hermanastra. A diferencia de Pearl, Peony si quiere a Cinder y comparte mucho con ella. En Nuevo Pekin existe una enfermedad que aún no tiene cura y que es mortal, la letumosis. Cuando Peony enferma de letumosis, el mundo de Cinder se detiene.

Su madrastra, Adri, decide donar a Cinder para la utilicen en la investigación y la búsqueda de la cura para la letumosis. Cinder se resiste pero aún así es llevada al laboratorio donde es analizada por los expertos y descubren algo trascendental: Cinder es inmune. Esto la sorprende y brilla una luz de esperanza para Peony: si ella es inmune, quiere decir que pueden conseguir la cura y salvar a Peony.

Cinder se ofrece como voluntaria a la investigación con la condición de que el dinero que le darán por ser voluntaria sea depositado en una cuenta a su nombre en la que solo ella pueda tener acceso y que si consiguen el antídoto, Peony sea la primera en recibirlo.

Aun así Cinder no logra salvar a Peony y ganándose el odio de su madrastra y su hermanastra, decide huir. La noche del baile, Cinder huirá de Nuevo Pekin para siempre. Aunque sus planes se ven frustrados cuando logra salvar a la androide del principe y esta le confiesa que la princesa Selene, del reino Lunar, está viva y es la única esperanza para detener los planes de la reina Levana de convertise en Emperadora de Nuevo Pekin casándose con el principe Kai, futuro Emperador.

Cinder decide acudir al baile con el vestido de Peony. Al llegar consigue entrar ya que era una invitada especial del principe. Al bailar con el principe le confiesa lo que le dijo la Androide y lo que le confirmo una chica via com a Cinder. El principe está decidido a casarse con Levana, sobre todo porque el ahora es Emperador y Levana tiene el antidoto que puede salvar a la Comunidad de la horrible Letumosis.

Cuando la reina Levana logra ver a Cinder, se da cuenta que ella es Selene, la legitima heredera del trono lunar y le dice a Kai que ella (Cinder) es una lunar, no una terrestre. Que ha estado viviendo en la tierra usurpando la identidad de otra persona, pero sobre todo, que ha roto el acuerdo de no dar refugio a los habitantes de la Luna, lo cuál es causa de la guerra. Kai, al percatarse de que lo que dice Levana es cierto, decide encarcelar a Cinder.

 Para no tener que casarse con Levana, Kai decide entregar a Cinder para que Levana no les declaré la guerra. Cinder lo entiende, y es arrestada sin resistirse.

¿Que será de Cinder? ¿La matará la reina Levana? ¿O logrará escapar?

Mi opinión:

 Es una novela que engancha. Muchísimo. Sobre todo por la originalidad de la novela. La historia habla de una cenicienta futurista, en una ciudad que vendría a ser la Pekin del futuro, donde ya no se usan teléfonos celulares sino mensajes com y donde la gente se trasladan en levitadores. Allí vive Cinder, como mecanica. A pesar de ser futuristas, conservan la figura del Emperador.

 Aunque, como ya lo dije, es la historia de cenicienta, tiene un toque original que me ha gustado mucho. Los personajes están bien definidos y cada uno logra tener su protagonismo en el momento preciso. El libro me lo he devorado en dos días porque es tremendamente adictivo.

 Si tengo que criticar algo, sería el final. Demasiado abierto, tomando en cuenta que la segunda parte se llama Scarlet y cuenta otra historia que supongo está entrelazada con Cinder pero no es necesariamente la continuación de la propia historia de Cinder. Pensé que sería algo más conclusivo, pero eso hace que sea mas interesante leer la segunda parte.

Estoy esperando con ansias leer la continuación porque quiero saber que pasará con Cinder y sobre todo como entrelazará la autora ambas historias, la de Scarlet y la de Cinder y como será el final de la saga o trilogía. Eso es algo que quiero saber, si serán tres libros o cuatro libros.

It is an engaging novel. A lot. Especially for the originality of the novel. The story tells of a futuristic Cinderella, in a city that would become the future of Pekin, which are no longer used cell phones but com messages and where people move in levitating. Cinder lives there, as mechanics. Despite being futuristic, retain the figure of the Emperor.

Although, as I said, is the story of Cinderella, has a twist that I liked it. The characters are well defined and each manages to have their place at the right time. The book I’ve eaten in two days because it is highly addictive.

If I have one criticism it would be the end. Too open, considering that the second part is called Scarlet and tells another story that is intertwined with Cinder guess but not necessarily a continuation of the history of Cinder. I thought it would be more conclusive, but that makes it more interesting to read the second part.

I am looking forward to read more because I want to know what will happen with Cinder and especially as the author both stories intertwine, the Scarlet and Cinder and as will be the end of the series or trilogy. That’s something I want to know if will be three or four books books.

Todas las chicas besan con los ojos cerrados es una novela romántica pero actual. Nos cuenta la vida de Alex, un hombre de treinta años que trabaja montando vídeos, haciendo edición de vídeos. Le va bien, no se queja. Vive solo, sin preocupaciones y sin nadie que le reclame nada. Alex no cree en el amor, al menos no en el amor en grandes dimensiones, cree en que una mujer puede gustarle a un hombre, gustarle muchísimo, pasarla bien y si se termina pues se termina. Cree mas en el buen sexo con alguien que te gusta mucho que en el amor.

Hasta que conoce a Natalia. Y aquí comienza todo un ir y venir en la historia. El proceso de conocerse, de comenzar una relación, de convivir juntos. Con Alex y Natalia se puede ver lo que pasa con una pareja común y corriente, no con todas claro, pero con la mayoría. Por eso creo que es una novela moderna, del romanticismo moderno.

Alex es un tipo con una personalidad marcada y una forma de ser definida. No vacila en lo que quiere y a veces , como mujer que soy, lo llegue a odiar. Pero es cierto que es un desgraciado de una forma muy adorable, tanto que a veces quisiera haber conocido a un Alex.

Como he dicho la historia de amor de Alex y Natalia no es la usual en las novelas románticas, de hecho, es muy realista. Ambos son profesionales y no tienen dependencia economica el uno del otro, Alex cataloga a Natalia como una chica All Star, ese tipo de mujer casi perfecta con la que cualquier hombre daría lo que fuese por estar pero una vez que la tiene, comienza a darse cuenta de que hay mas peces en el mar y de que Natalia no es la unica chica All Star que hay en el mundo.

Es cuando conoce a Alicia, una chica muy joven que comienza a trabajar como asistente de Alex en sus labores de montaje de vídeos. Tras el tiempo juntos, la convivencia y demás, terminan teniendo sexo. Buen sexo. Y Alex comienza a sentir ese cosquilleo, esas mariposas en el estomago, propias del enamoramiento. Y es cuando todo en su vida se derrumba, Natalia, que no es tonta se da cuenta y lo deja. Al final las cosas con Alicia tampoco prospera, ella se va a Londres y dan por finalizada la relación.

Esto sume a Alex en una especie de depresión. La muerte de Chewie (su perro y amigo fiel de toda la vida), el abandono de Natalia, la ida a Londres de Alicia, en fin, una serie de acontecimientos desafortunados donde Alex se da cuenta que esta solo, muy solo.

Su amigo Martín, el cual ha sentado cabeza con una mujer llamada Chiara, le da un bono regalo para Clarice, que no es mas que una agencia donde buscan “potenciales medias naranjas”, Alex va sin creer demasiado en Clarice, hasta que le llega un email con la tarjeta de contacto de Keiko, una japonesa, residenciada en Tokyo que es la primera en la lista Clarice, solo que Alex desconoce que hay una lista.

Así es como Alex viaja a Tokyo y pasa un fin de semana con Keiko. Un fin de semana exepcional, donde Keiko y Alex patéticamente no salen de la cama. Alex esta convencido que Keiko es la mujer de su vida, es la media naranja que tanto Clarice le prometio conseguir. Hasta que vuelve a España. Trata de comunicarse con Keiko, sin recibir respuesta. La llama, le escribe emails, mensajes de facebook, pero ella no da señales de vida. Llama a Clarice, donde le dicen que si ella ha decidido no tener mas contacto con él, ellos no pueden hacer nada. Alex no lo entiende, el fin de semana que pasaron juntos fue impresionante ¿porque no iba a querer verlo de nuevo?

Cuando recibe un correo de Keiko, entiende porque ya no quiere verlo. En dicho correo ella le explica que, aunque la pasaron muy bien juntos y posiblemente ella se arrepienta de lo que esta haciendo, ha decidido terminar con la relación para dar paso al siguiente nombre en su lista Clarice, conocer mas gente y abrirse a la oportunidad de escoger quien sea mejor para ella. Esto enfurece a Alex: ¿como es que no sabía que existia una lista? ¿No se suponia que Keiko era su media naranja? No pueden existir varias medias naranjas, si es tu otra mitad, solo puede ser una. Alex acude a Clarice muy enojado, histérico a decir verdad, porque no entiende como es que le prometieron conseguir su media naranja, su persona especial e ideal cuando resulta que hay una lista. Alex jura no volver a Clarice.

Pero el pobre no tiene fuerza de voluntad, la soledad le gana y termina solicitando el siguiente nombre en su lista Clarice. Y así es como Alex termina probando con un sin fin de nombres de esa lista, uno tras otro, como quien pide comida en un menú. Buscando la mujer ideal, pero sin éxito. Hasta que un día llega a su correo su siguiente media naranja en la lista Clarice: Natalia.

Esto los toma a ambos por sorpresa. Es increíble que después de tanto tiempo de haber terminado su relación, Clarice piense que ellos son medias naranjas. Vuelven a salir, después de años, sin ningún tipo de intención de retomar una relación, solo por curiosidad de saber como está el otro. Y es así como vuelven a pasar un fin de semana juntos, el fin de semana que juran será el último.

En la boda de Chiara y Martín, vuelven a encontrarse Alex y Natalia. Solo que esta vez Natalia esta acompañada por otro chico. Martín le dice a Alex que la invitó para volverlos a juntar, solo que no sabía que ella asistiría acompañada. Aunque Natalia vaya con pareja eso no le impide a Alex acercarse a ella y confesarle que la quiere, la quiere en serio. Como su mujer, y esta le confiesa que está embarazada. Y que es de él. Alex, no lo puede creer en un momento, pero luego reacciona y entiende que están unidos ahora y que la quiere, y entiende que ella es todo lo que buscaba. Ya no necesita a mas nadie porque la tiene a ella.

Mi opinión.

Para ser una novela romántica, está bastante bien. Yo no soy fanática de ese genero literario pero está novela me ha gustado muchísimo, por el simple hecho de ser tan realista. Una relación no siempre es rosa, no siempre las parejas que se quieren son fieles, no siempre la persona con la que pasas años es el amor de tu vida, esta novela te hace ver que eso es seguro, eso es así.

Alex, como ya lo dije, es un desgraciado. Un desgraciado adorable. Muchas veces dan ganas de golpearlo, por su afán de siempre estar probando, su inconformidad con la vida. Siempre a la espera de algo mejor cuando lo que tiene es perfecto. Aun así, es un hombre del que fácilmente cualquier mujer se podría enamorar, tiene un encanto muy particular.

Me ha gustado que los capítulos no son muy largos, y de narración fácil, es un libro que se lleva muy bien porque tiene la virtud de estar escrito de manera muy amena y no se hace pesado o molesto de leer.

Hay un aspecto de la escritura del autor, al menos en está novela, que me ha gustado y es que cuando un personaje, una mujer, desparece de la vida de Alex, el autor hace una especie de visión al futuro del personaje que se va. Te dice que pasará luego de que salga de la vida de Alex. Eso me ha gustado.

En definitiva es un libro que me dejo con buen sabor de boca en cuanto a la escritura del autor. Tengo entendido que es su primera novela, y creo que lo ha hecho muy bien. Con gusto leería cualquier otra novela que escriba.

To be a romance novel, is pretty good. I’m not a fan of this literary genre but is novel I really liked, simply by being so realistic. A relationship is not always pink, not always want couples who are faithful, not always the person with whom you spend years is the love of your life, this novel makes you see that that’s for sure, this is true.

Alex, as I said, is despicable. An unfortunate adorable. Often feel like hitting him, by his desire to always be testing, their dissatisfaction with life. Always waiting for something better when you have is perfect. Still, it’s a man that any woman could easily fall in love, have a special charm.

I liked that the chapters are not very long, and easy narrative, is a book that gets along very well because it has the virtue of being written in a very pleasant and is not heavy or uncomfortable to read.

Al fin he terminado este libro. Lo comencé a leer porque había escuchado muy buenas criticas de la película y yo quería leer el libro antes de ver la película.

La historia esta contada por Pat Peoples, el protagonista. Él es un chico que esta internado en “el lugar malo” (un centro de rehabilitación mental) desde que se separo de su esposa Nikki. Su madre logra sacar a Pat de “el lugar malo” para llevarlo a su casa de manera que pueda reanudar su vida normal.

Pat al volver se da cuenta que las cosas están un poco raras, comenzando porque ya no hay rastro en la casa de que él estuviese casado con Nikki, como si él se lo hubiese imaginado y de hecho nadie la menciona.

Pat piensa que su vida es una película, una en la que Dios es el productor y guionista, por lo tanto él tiene que esforzarse lo más posible en hacer todo lo que Dios quiera para que su película tenga un final feliz: volver a estar con Nikki.
Para que Dios siga haciendo de su vida una película feliz, Pat ha comenzado a hacer ejercicios (porque era algo que Nikki quería que hiciera), ha comenzado a ser mejor persona y a tratar mejor a los demás, así como a leer literatura americana, ya que Nikki daba clases de literatura.

Así es como Pat pasa su vida con su padre, el cual no le habla y con su madre. Siempre haciendo ejercicios y tratando de que su vida tenga un final feliz, la película de su vida.

Pat asiste a terapia con Cliff, un doctor de origen Indio bastante comprensivo que trata a Pat como su amigo y no como un paciente. Eso hace que Pat confié en él y hablen de todo, desde futbol americano hasta de Tiffany.

La historia toma su punto crucial cuando Tiffany le pide a Pat que participe con ella en una exhibición de baile con ella, a cambio de que ella será intermediaria entre Nikki y Pat, todo por medio de cartas.
Esto hace que Pat deje su afición por los Eagles y siga al pie de la letra todo el entrenamiento con Tiffany. Luego de la exhibición de baile, Pat comienza a escribir cartas que son contestadas por Nikki, donde está le cuenta que se ha casado y ahora es muy feliz. Y sobre todo, que no volverá con él. Nunca. Jamás.

A pesar de lo que Nikki le cuenta en las cartas, Pat insiste en que le de una oportunidad de demostrarle lo mucho que ha cambiado, lo diferente que serán sus vidas ahora y que él ya está dispuesto a hacer lo que sea por ella. Para que ella sea feliz a su lado. Nikki le insiste en que nada volverá a hacer como antes y que ella no volverá a estar con él nunca porque ya tiene a otro hombre al cuál ama.

Tiffany le hace llegar una carta a Pat donde le explica el porque hizo todo lo que hizo y le cuenta su historia con Tommy, su ex marido muerto. Esto hace que Pat se replantee algunas cosas y de cierto modo decida terminar con su película de horror.

Mi opinión.

Es una historia que tiene matices tanto de dolor como de humor. En cierto momentos Pat me hacia sonreír con su idea de que su vida era una película de Dios. Al ser contada por el propio Pat puedes sentir todo lo que él quiere hacer y el empeño que pone en todo lo que hace para complacer en Nikki. De verdad se esfuerza tanto por ser una mejor persona para estar con su esposa, que a veces siento pena por él.

Tiffany es un personaje que va de menor a mayor. Comienza siendo una simple conocida de Pat y luego se convierte, en muchos momentos, en la confidente de Pat. Aunque a está hace que no le importa demasiado. Luego va aumentando su presencia en la historia. El personaje de Tiffany es un poco incomprensible en ciertos momentos, pero cuando se comienza a conocer, le agarras cierto cariño.

Sin embargo mi favorita es la mamá de Pat. Es un pedacito de cielo. Noble, dulce, amable, maternal. Es mi personaje favorito y no se merece el marido que tiene.

Solo puedo decir, en contra de la novela, es que no me ha gustado el final. Me esperaba algo, no se, algo mas. No termino como yo hubiese querido, es como si hubiese quedado algo pendiente y el final fue algo forzado, como si tuviese que terminar a juro.

Pero en definitiva es una buena novela, que te enseña que la vida tiene subidas y bajadas, y lo duro que es reponerse cuando todo tu mundo desaparece y deja de ser lo que es. Es una novela que te da grandes lecciones, enseñandote valores y cosas que a veces solo entendemos cuando están a nuestra vista.

I finally finished this book. I started reading because I had heard very good reviews of the movie and I wanted to read the book before seeing the movie.

The story is told by Pat Peoples, the protagonist. He is a guy that you are in “the bad place” (a mental rehabilitation center) since splitting from his wife Nikki. His mother manages to get Pat to “the bad place” to take him home so he can resume his normal life.

Pat returning realizes that things are a little weird, starting because there is no trace in the house that he was married to Nikki, as if he would have imagined, and in fact no one mentions it.

Pat thinks his life is a movie, one in which God is the producer and screenwriter, so he has to work as much as possible to do what God wants for your movie has a happy ending: getting back with Nikki.
For God to continue making her life a happy movie, Pat has begun to exercise (because it was something that Nikki wanted to do), has started to become a better person and treat others better and to read American literature, and Nikki was teaching literature.

Pat Cliff attends therapy, a doctor of Indian origin who is quite sympathetic to Pat and his friend and not a patient. That makes Pat trusted him and talk about everything from football to Tiffany.

The story takes its crucial point when Tiffany asks Pat to participate with it in an exhibition dance with her, she will change intermediary between Nikki and Pat, all through letters.
This makes Pat let his fondness for the Eagles and follow to the letter all the training with Tiffany. After the dance exhibition, Pat begins to write letters that are answered by Nikki, where she has been married to and is now very happy. And above all, it will not return with him. Never. Never.

Despite what Nikki tells in letters, Pat insists that a chance to show how much has changed, how different their lives are now and that he is now willing to do anything for her. My opinion.

It is a story that has shades of both pain and humor. At one time Pat made me smile with his idea that his life was a movie of God. Being told by Pat himself can feel everything he wants to do and the effort he puts into everything she does to please in Nikki. Really works so hard to be a better person to be with his wife, I sometimes feel sorry for him.

Tiffany is a character who goes from low to high. It starts as a simple known Pat then becomes, in many instances, Pat’s confidante. Although is does not care much. After increasing its presence in history. Tiffany’s character is a bit incomprehensible at times, but when you start to learn, you grab some affection.

But my favorite is Pat’s mom. It is a bit of heaven. Noble, sweet, kind, motherly. She’s my favorite character and does not deserve a husband who has.

I can only say, against the novel, is that I did not like the ending. I expected, not something else. Did not end as I would have liked, it is as if something had been pending and the ending was a bit forced, as if I had to finish to swear.

But ultimately it is a good novel, it teaches you that life has ups and downs, and how hard it is to recover when your whole world disappears and ceases to be what it is. This novel gives you great lessons, teaching values and things that sometimes only when we understand our view.
